Yes, after a long month waiting, I finally saw him and I am fortunate enough that I finally saw him personally. People who don’t know about Nick Vujicic, he is a great motivator and use to travel across the country to motivate the people of all the age level. He is not only an excellent motivator but also he is a great person with dashing personality. There are many motivators in this world but what uncommon between Nick Vujici and other motivators is that Nick Vujici doesn’t have arms and legs. Yes, he was born without arms and legs, interesting and sorry about him right but don’t be because he has done a lot of things in his life what other people have not done or feel scared to do even having their arms and legs. I saw number of his video before meeting to him and I get so inspire whenever I use to see his video and then I said earlier after a long month and year waiting I finally met him. And after meeting him, I got so emotional and inspired by his wording and thought and realized when he can do it why not I can and now I have more faith in GOD no matter what the situation is because GOD will always do something good for all of us and will always support us when we will keep on trying and have faith on him. We always use to say keep trying and have faith in God but sometime we get disappointed and always say why it’s happen or happening with me and then we start losing trust or losing faith on GOD which is true with everyone and it is true with me also. But by doing this entire unwanted thing nothing will come positive only thing we will continuously hurt our self and our body. So as per his word, we should keep trying, keep trying and so on and always have a big faith on God because its matter how you finish your race, are you going to finish it stronger or you will just give-up. So it’s very important to finish your work whatever you have in your hand even if you fall number of times but keep on trying because one day you will succeed and God will always help you to finish your task if we keep on trying. So never get discourage or disappointed and whatever the words starting with “DIS” always take in a positive way because even “DIS” mean “The (D) Inspiring (I) Stage (S)”, so never lose your heart and keep on trying –trying and have a faith in GOD. And also there is nothing impossible in this world even impossible has “I M Possible” word. People who are lazy will always find impossible word from possible task and people who are strong will always find possible things in impossible task also. So it just a matter of how you are seeing those things. But now, I think that whatever comes in your life we should always try it so that later we don’t have any regret of not doing that thing, so keep on trying whether you fail or pass. Really Nick Vujicic is not only a great motivator but also a good human being who always motivate and help the needy people and make people to believe in God and never lose our heart because life itself is very challenging and interesting, so its depend upon people how they want to play with their life whether they want challenging life who give lot of learning experience or monotonous life, so it’s just a way of seeing our life and never ever lose hope because hope is the bread for beggar.

Cherry Blosson

This time I am writing a blog on “Cherry Blossom”. On April 3rd 2010, I went to see Cheery Blossom in Washington DC, USA along with my family and friends. Though this was my second visit after coming to USA but this time I really enjoyed a lot. It was a great fun to visit and see the cheery blossom, which is one of the best festival celebrations in USA during spring time. Cherry Blossom is usually from cheery tree which was originated in USA during the year 1912 which was given by the Japanese people as a gift of friendship. Cherry Blossom is a big festival in Japan. So from 1912 to till date, cherry blossom is celebrated in USA with lots of great enthusiasms and enjoyment. Many people from all over the world come during Cherry Blossom in DC area to see and welcome the arrival of spring and to share the special season with each other. Blossom festival usually start from end of March and come to an end on mid April, so usually it’s for 3 week and 2nd week is the peak period of blossom.

Though it was a great fun but it was very rush as many people came over there to see the blossom as it was peak period time and also it was weekend, so no one want to miss this great festival of USA were all natural beauties are lying. So it was very hard to get parking and we have to wait for at least 1 hr to get parking slot empty. So if anyone who is going to watch Cherry Blossom in DC, it’s better to take a metro train instead of driving a car. But overall, the experience was very good to watch the natural beauty of earth. There were many other activities which were taking place during Cherry Blossom festival like orchestra, game shows, marriages etc. So it was a great enjoyment to see all these activities which were going on everywhere.

Importance of Human Resource Management

Today I am writing a blog on Importance of Human Resource Management. Although many people know what HR people do and what are their importance and how they work, how they act as a mediator between employee and employer etc. But the reason for writing this blog is that there are many people who still think that, what the role of HR and why they unnecessary exist in the organization. So in order to tell those people who still think that HR department is useless and never do anything for them, so for them I am writing this blog to let them know what actually HR people do and just like any other department, HR department also help the company to achieved its goal.

HR responsibility is very crucial and important for recruiting talent people, developing careers, keeping people motivated and building leaders, handling employee conflicts etc. HR people occupy a prime position in any organization, with effective processes for keeping talent, with open and honest relations with employees, trying to motivate them whenever they need. Every organizations have certain goals like to earn a lot of profits, want to have better product and services, innovative technology, better customer services and satisfaction when compare to their competitors, therefore HR people or department help the company to achieved its goal by recruiting the talented people who can perform all these tasks and can achieved organization goals. So HR department play an important part in any organization.

But many people think that and always make argument and always have discussion that HR as the force that forgot about people and does not take care of their employees, never give feedback on time in order to improve our self and even some people don’t know whether HR exist in the organization or not etc. So with all these attacks on HR's reputation, if your HR team is an impediment and never cares for you then upgrade them and when you decide that you are serious about the results you want, you do that i.e. go and ask them about your performance, your problems etc because until and unless you are not going to let them know, how they will come to know. In the meantime, a weak HR group is a great excuse for things that don't go the way you want.

HR people should also think that their role must be parallel the needs of the changing organization. Successful organizations are becoming more adaptable, resilient, quick to change directions, and customer-centered. Within this environment, the HR professional must learn how to manage effectively through planning, organizing, leading and controlling the human resource and be knowledgeable of emerging trends in training and employee development. So just involve every employee and follow as a individual approach rather than collective approach and let employee know that you really care for them and how important as a HR we are to them.

Recommendation to Follow Up with the Candidates

The most important problem for any of the company’s is to be in touch with the entire candidate who are currently not fit for the company but at the later stage it may possible that they can be the best fit for them as per the company requirement. So in that case company should always be in touch with the candidates, so that whenever they have any opening for them they are always be ready to accept the offer because if the company’s are in touch with the candidate on the regular bases, the candidates will always have a good impression about the company and it may also create a positive word mouth to other people. Therefore the company should never think or take in a light way if the candidates are not selected for a position then it’s better to leave them. Below are the some of the recommendations which company should follow in order to be continuously in touch with the candidates.

1) Whenever receiving a resume from any of the candidate, drop a thank you mail to them immediately even if job is not matching with the candidate profile.

2) If the resume is up to the company job requirement then be in touch with the candidate and tell them your resume are in the process and try to be in touch with them continuously, so that they cannot look for other company and can have a feeling about the company that they are interested on me which indirectly create a good image of the company in candidate mind.

3) If resume is not matching with the job requirement, then send a mail to the candidate and also try to call them and let them know that the position is not matching up with your profile and will contact you when ever any position matching with your profile. It’s better to contact the candidate through phone in order to have a brief background of a candidate, like what kind of jobs they are handling and what particular position they are looking, which ultimately can help the company in a near future to contact those candidate any time even if the job is not matching with them. By doing this it may possible that the candidate can provide a good referral to the company.

4) The resume which are initially selected from the company side but got rejected at the time of interview, try to call them instead of dropping a mail and tell them they had found a good match but if something new position will match with your profile then we will contact you . Also send them a thank you mail for showing interested in their company.

5) If candidate join the company that’s good but those candidate whose resume got rejected initially or at the time of interview, it’s very important to be in touch with them as most of the time, company don’t follow with those candidate and then occur a huge communication gap. So it’s better for the company to have a regular contact with those candidates.

6) Whenever candidate post their resume through job search engine, try to create a tool which can make the candidate to post their resume by going through the company job site and at the end of posting their resume try to create an option whether they want any updated news, blogs or positions which are going with the company or not. By doing this, whenever the company has any updated things and positions it will directly go the candidate email and in this way the candidate can also know what’s going with the company and always has some knowledge about company and its work culture which can create marketing for the company.

7) The candidate who came for the interview for any position, try to send them a thank you mail on the same day.

8) As now a day’s social networking sites are playing a very important role both professionally as well as personally, so in that case company’s should always try to connect or add as much as the candidate in the network like whose resume are there in the databank, the candidate whose resume are coming through referral or the candidate who came for the interview in the social networking site. By doing this, the candidate would always be in touch with the company.

9) If possible try to send holiday/festival message or greeting to the candidate especially to the good candidates, this is the better way to convey the message to the candidate and be in touch.

10) Make contact with them frequently and engage them in discussion to understand their current situation, what would motivate them to move, etc.

11) Most of the time it happens that the employee who has left the company, organization are not in touch with that employee. Therefore employee who has already worked here and somehow they have left the company, try to be in touch with them on regular bases because it may possible that either the ex-employee can join the company in a near future or they can provide a good referral to the company.

12) Be timely: The few companies that do follow-up with candidates oftentimes wait way too long to inform the candidate that they didn’t get the job, never do that. Don’t make people wait or anticipate a job they are not going to get. If you know after the first interview the candidate is not right for the job, send a regrets letter immediately. It is very awkward situation but the candidate will appreciate it immensely.

13) Most of the company try to post the positions in advance which they are going to have in a near future, so that once the position get open, the company don’t have to wait for the resume, they already received resumes from the candidates and can contact with them immediately. So if the position is going to open after a long time after a date of posting, first send thank you mail and then don’t wait for the candidate thinking that once the positions are open then only we will contact to the suitable candidate. Try to be in regular touch and tell them their resumes are in the process. So by doing this, it may have chances that the candidate will be still interested for the particular position and the company can also have up to date information about how much candidate is interested for particular positions. Because if candidate are interested in a job then possibility would be that they are going to join the company instead of the candidate who has least interest. Therefore it’s very important for the company to be in touch with the candidate even if the positions are going to open in a near future. The other advantage of doing this is that many times its happen candidate don’t remember for the position which they have applied and for which company, so it’s very necessary in that case to be always in touch with the candidate when positions are going to open after a long time.

14) If possible try to send a birthday mail to the excellent candidate to whom the company can think that this type of candidate will always be better fit for the company. It will definitely create a better reputation of a company in front of candidate mind as they will think; company is not only concern for their internal employees but also concern for an external people.

Greed is Bad

Greed is Always Bad

Now a days there are lot of discussion about whether greed is good or not. I think it’s become a topic of discussion for everyone after economic downturn and collapse of many organizations. We all know the reasons for financial crisis and with all those reasons, the conclusion always comes that one of the reason for crisis was the Greed. There are many examples of companies who failed because of greed such as; one of the more notable cases of greed was Enron’s leadership. The Enron scandal came in October 2001. It was very well respected company and there were many people who would like to work with such a big company but it was involved in many unethical cases like fraudulent self-dealing, falsification of financial information, and illegal market manipulations. Enron acted unethically, illegally and in conflict with their stakeholders’ for their best interests over the past decade. The other examples include, Satyam Computer Services which was one of the respected companies in India and this company chairman in January 2009 had admitted that had intentionally fixed the balance sheet, which included a severely inflated cash number, the subjecting of a major liability on funds arranged by him. A collection of other big name fraud and greed cases include WorldCom Inc, Tyco International Ltd. The greed and fraud leadership of one person negatively affected so many innocent people. So with all these crises, conclusion only comes that greed is not at all good.

Though there are many people who won’t agree with my point and will stuck that greed is good for business. I too agree that greed is good for business in order to have profit, but excessive greed is always bad for the business. There are natural disasters and there are man-made disasters and man-made disasters are always caused by their excessive greed. Now a day’s leaders are so preoccupied and totally focusing on with the goal of profit maximization for self-serving interests that they are not considering the implications and their actions which are affecting too many parties include both shareholders and stakeholders. And these leaders are breaking all the law, ethical boundaries and putting their own benefit and interest in front of those they were supposed to be representing. In a past we have seen many such leaders’ example that done business for their self interest. I know every business work for self interest but there is lot of difference between self interest and more self interest. In self interest, leaders are not only thinking about their business but they also think about the things which are associated with environment both internally and externally whereas in more self interest, leaders only think about their business and how to earn lots of profit. So because of excessive greed millions of ordinary people across the countries are suffering and they are still paying it now. They are paying it in damaged pensions, higher mortgage rates, and vulnerable savings and of course they have lost jobs. A self interest or greed should only be there when you are not harming others with your action and making money by following all rules and regulation and doing business more ethically. In that case doing greed for your company or business is not bad. Greed is only bad when you are doing any activities which you know it is not good for a business in a long term.

I think there is such a term in the business world as a fair profit and a fair competition in which everybody in the business world is making profit, rather than one particular business that is gobbling up all of the interests of others. We know money is the root of all evil, it desire for status, either greed to increase one’s status, or jealousy over losing in the status game to others. Desire for money or greed for money is a good thing when people play by the rules and when their desire for money and status results in better ways of doing business and in invention that help people and that make the world a better place. Desire for money and status is only bad when people do bad things in order to obtain what they desire or they are self centered. Therefore the goal of a government should not be to punish people for being successful in obtaining money, but to create rules to ensure that competition for money results in good for society. So greed is only good when it is better, not only for business but also for stakeholders and stockholders.

Recruitment Strategy

Steps of Recruitment Strategy through Social Media

Now a day’s social networking site is playing a very important role in every one life. It’s not only helping people to find, make and interact with old and new friends but also helping people to find their jobs. Now those days has gone were people has to look for the job only in job search engine, now they can see job in the social site and can also interact with the people in order to know more about their company and culture where they are applying. In social network site almost everything is open, here not only candidate will come to know about the company but social networks are also helping employers to search the proper candidate in order to fit them for the suitable positions. Therefore with the help of social network site an employer can get a lot of information about the candidate not only professional but also personal information and their behaviors. So accordingly company can analyzed whether a candidate is really fit for the company job or not. So social networking site is not only helping the candidate to find the better job but it also helping the company to find the better candidate and brand their company in the market. Now a day’s a lot of company are recruiting the candidate through social network site and I think it’s a best way to recruit the candidate through social site as there are numbers of people who are using these networking site and have their profile on that. And now a day’s more than 40% of the company’s are recruiting the candidates from social site only. So in my opinion social media is not the answers of HR recruitment but it’s a tool that should be added in recruitment process.

These are the steps that company should do if they are planning to recruit people from social network site:

1) Open an account on various social sites. LinkedIn and facebook are the two most famous sites were almost most people are having their profile in it across the countries.
2) After opening your company account, try to connect with people and groups as much as possible related to your business.
3) Use your employee’s networks in order to connect with their network because chances of your employee’s network are almost those people who are into the same fields as of your employee’s.
4) Try to post as many as videos, events in social site and also into You Tube mentioning about your company and its culture and also how work and recruiting process take place in your company. This is the most effective way of attracting the candidate from your side as people will get lot of knowledge about the company and their process.
5) The next most effective way of attracting the candidate is to write the blog. Involve every employees of your company to write down the blog about their learning experiences which they got from this company. It would be more effective, if higher level people of the company’s are also involve in writing the blog about their company and work experience, it will create a good image about the company in front of outside people. Therefore involve as many as people from higher level to lower level people to write down the blog and allow them to post a comment on the blog.
6) Make your employees and managers to run online career fair and discuss more about the company and its way of doing business.
7) Involve as many people to engage and have open discussion. Engagement should be there from both the sides and it should be transparent not only from candidate side but also from company side because companies also need candidates.
7) Always create fan page on social network site.
8) Use technology like RSS, feedburner etc.
9) Set up an internal tagging site on social network, so that anyone can tag you internally and externally.
10) Implement Live Chat on career page, so that if anyone has any query related to job or company they can discuss at the same time which is more speedy way of knowing the candidate as well as company.
11) Most of the company’s use social network site for positing the jobs, that’s true we have to post the current job but don’t just post the job because it’s really about branding your company and culture to attract and retain the employees. So involve the candidate and have an effective communication from both the side.

So these are the few steps that any company should try to do if they are planning to recruit the candidates from social networking site. These sites are not only effective in hiring process but also cost effective when compare to other tools.

Experience

My beautiful Experience in USA

There's something addicting about starting off in a new place, I realize that now. Coming to USA first time was so excited for me. Every time going to find something new in culture, people, work, education etc but are usually quite interesting and charming, especially if you learn to embrace them and accept the fact that they might be feeling the same thing towards you.

The diversity of cultures that I have seen here in USA has shown me that there's something about cultural diversity that I liked very much. I am curious about everything that's different from who I am. Looking back on my past I know things have been quite different for me. Everyday life in India as a high-tech professional with the routine work of family, friends and politics has had an enormous impact that blinded me of the outside world. Sure, I saw the news, I watched endless foreign films, but it was all plain ordinary part of my India life routine. Seeing USA culture from far is totally different then experiencing that culture. Though there are so many people with different cultures and backgrounds but they have a freedom to do whatever they want until and unless you are not harming others.

I remember I couldn't even understand people who wanted to travel or to live for a few years out of India, not because I was patriotic, very connected to my home or too dumb, but because of something else. I used to think it's the fear of culture shock and hardships with affects like loneliness or feeling home-sick but now I think it's because I was afraid that I will like it too much that I would feel heartbroken when it's time to leave. I loved the fact that they knew nothing about Indian culture and I also knew that I don’t know anything about them and I was ecstatic about slowly picking up a new language.

In the years of my childhood, the US was as distant from my own culture as I could ever grasp or imagine. I am not sure what this realization would mean to me or how it would influence my future but at this very specific point in my life there's no escaping the fact that culture is not only something I got used to it but also something that I have come to love. Till now my experience in USA is very good. People to whom I have associated professionally or personally are very kind and always ready to help whenever we need them. And I am still looking forward to have some more good experiences in my life with lots of learning from this country.

Purpose of Business

Primary purpose of any business is to make commitment to doing business in a way that is ethically, economically sound and socially responsive to the need and the wants of the company’s stakeholders. Stakeholders include customers, suppliers, employees, shareholders etc. And if any of these stakeholders cannot get what they need from the business will always get fail. Of course profit or bottom line is the part of the business which everyone has to think about that but purpose of any business should always be beyond the profits. Business should not only be responsible for stockholders but also for stakeholders. It requires acceptance and dedication to its value, understanding the problems or complexities of society and individuals and finding those solutions to solve the people problems.

Many businesses and people think that the primary responsibility of any business is to always think about the profit. So the businesses who think that they have to only concern for profit and nothing else. So my question is, any business should think profit at what cost. By following all unethical practices, greed’s etc. In past many businesses collapse because they always thought about the profit and due to this they followed all unethical approaches to gain lots of profits, which ultimately made them to go out of business. I don’t say business should not think about the bottom line, every business should think about the profit but profit is only for sort terms but in a long term or in a long run only those business survive who have a strong philanthropy or highly social responsible and have a good reputation in front of customers and in the market.

Even if business thinks that they have to make profit and they are in the business only for making profits. So in my opinion they are making profits not only by producing and selling their products and services but directly or indirectly stakeholders are helping businesses to make their profits. For example, customers are going to buy only those company products who had good image in the market and to whom they can trust, employees are going to work with those company’s only who respect them, suppliers can have partnership with those company only to whom they rely on. And also shareholders are not concern were their money are floating, they are more concern about the increase in the long term value of shareholders. Most of the people think that share price of any company increases because of the company profits. More will be the business profits, higher will be the price of shares. But the share price of any company’s rises not only by its profits but also due to its reputation, as people are going to buy those company shares only that they know what its market values. Therefore it’s very important for any business to not only think about profits as a primary purpose but they should also think about their stakeholders, society etc. And the businesses which are selfish in motivation, narrow in outlook and instrumental in behavior is rarely successful business.

Ethics

Ethics

In a past we have seen many successful businesses fail, their profit declined or they are out of business etc. There are many reasons behind this but one of the main reasons behind all this pitfalls and failure of the business was the lack of business ethics. Ethics can be defined as codes of principles and values that make decisions and actions within a company. In short the definition of ethics basically knows the difference between right and wrong and choosing that decision what is right for us, for other people, for society, for organization etc. Therefore due to lack of business ethics and failures of many businesses, now a day’s not only many organization but also customers, employees, shareholder or stakeholder etc are concerns about the ethics. In order to be a successful company, a business needs to follow all ethical values and standard and also to prosper and maintain their wealth; it had to be founded on certain ethical principles. Though profit is main concerns for any organization but it is only for short term i.e. the businesses that don’t follow ethics and their main purpose is only profit, they are not going to be in a longer race for many times. A business that is based on ethics can run successfully for long years.

Importance of Ethics in a Business

Ethics is really playing a very important role in any organization. An organization can only grow, succeed and have competitive advantage when it is following all ethics norms. As we have seen in the past most company’s collapse or trying hard to sustain in the competitive environment because of their unethical behavior. For example, Enron, Arthur Anderson etc all these was giant company and people would like to work with these company but it collapse because they were operating there business totally unethical way. They were just concerns about the numbers instead of reputation or image, values etc. Therefore in order to have good reputation in front of everyone and be successful company, all organization has to implement ethical norms in their company. Just going to implement doesn’t work out, ethics is not only implementation in an organization but people working in a company has to follow those ethics. Many companies even in Enron and Arthur Anderson was having ethical standard but no people followed those ethical norms. Therefore it usually start from top level, so it is the responsibility of top management people in an organization to make and implement those ethical norms in their company and also let people know strictly to follow those norms.

Therefore for a business to achieve long-term profits, customer relationship and their trust is most-most importance. To gain a long-term relationship with customers and achieve customer return for the business, the business needs to be based on ethics. The trustworthiness of a business, its customer service, its customer care, its way of dealing with customers etc is a part of the business ethics. Business ethics leave a long-lasting impression on the customers and the impression on their minds to builds trust for their company.

Advantage of Ethics

· It builds trust and loyalty and also referrals from customers.
· It motivates sales staffers because they really believe in the products and services they are selling.
· It creates a culture of honesty, especially important in a business where employees work in customers’ homes and can't be closely supervised all the time.
· And it attracts top employees who want to work for a company whose standards they respect and share.

Virtual Reality Technology-Continue

In my previous blog I have mention about what is Virtual Reality and how actually it work in healthcare industry. As I already mention, Virtual Reality is an emerging technology especially for healthcare industry and it’s playing a very important role not only for doctor but also for patient. Virtual environments and related technologies had added a value to health care at least in the areas of improved services, and savings in material resources. This technology really has lot of advantages; it not only improved the services of medical industry but also save lots of time and money for both patient and for doctor for example:

Cost Effectiveness: Many instruments for surgery are difficult to arrange or control, and when surgery is conducted outside of the therapist's office, it becomes more expensive in terms of time and money. The ability to conduct surgery without leaving the therapist's office would make better treatment available to more sufferers at a lower cost.

Patient Acceptance: The people who cannot travel far for their surgery and also cannot afford e money to go for surgery outside city or country, for them Virtual technology has really helped them a lot i.e. having their surgery at their own place or city in much effective and in efficient way.

Besides solving the distance problem, time and money, Virtual Reality also offers other benefits, such as minimizing the exposure of surgeons to infections and potential strain.

Though Virtual Reality technology has lots of advantage but still this technology has some limitation or drawbacks like it is still very expensive and also the surgery done on the basis of computers and electric wires, therefore in developing countries or even in developed countries where electricity problem is there or it may occur in that case doing surgery on this technology basis would be very scary and risky too. Therefore this technology can only we use in those city or country where there is no problem of electricity. And also people using VR head gear sometimes complain about chronic fatigue, a lack of initiative, drowsiness, irritability, or nausea after interacting with a virtual environment for a long time and no one knows what would be the long-term effect of using head-mounted displays on human eyes.

Future of Virtual Reality Technology in Healthcare Industry:

Though this technology has some drawbacks but it has lot of scope in near future. In Healthcare Virtual Reality have generated double-digit growth both worldwide and in the U.S. market and according to US News in the year 2010 U.S. market for virtual reality in surgery, medical education, therapy and other areas will grow to $290 million. Therefore Virtual Reality is really an advance technology in the healthcare industry.

Virtual Reality Technology

Emerging Technology- Virtual Reality in Healthcare

Virtual Reality is a new and exciting emerging technology that is into high demand now days. Virtual Reality basically means combination of virtual and real environment. Though Virtual technology was developed during 1960’s period but it was not so successful because of various reasons like due to low computer speed, heavy weight instruments. In short, the technology was not so mature enough to deliver a sensitive feedback for the decision making. But after 20 years a lot of things has been improved like speed of computer is 1000 times faster than pervious and also the weight of instrument is very light and systems deliver great feedback in order to take decision. So now Virtual reality technology has really improved and playing a very important role in different-different areas and have lots of scope for future growth.

So what is Virtual Reality?

Virtual Reality is a three dimensional (3-D) technology which allows a user to navigate around and interact with a computer-simulated environment. In sort Virtual Reality is a 3-D technology were users can visualize, interpret and interact in both virtual and real world. This technology is not only used in Gaming industry, Education or Space industries but now days it is highly used in Healthcare industry and having high demand for it. With the help of Virtual Reality, a doctor who is sitting at one city can operate his/her patient vey successfully who is sitting at different city or country. This sounds like impossible but technology has really made this thing so easy that it is not only helped the doctor but also to patient.

Virtual Reality in healthcare usually works on three ideas: Immersion, Interaction and Presence. Immersion is basically collecting the data from real and virtual environment, were users can share data or information from both real and virtual environment. Interaction basically implied that there is an interaction between virtual environment users and real environment users in order to know the exact situation of both the environments. And lastly presences usually indicate that the user is physically inside of the/virtual environment, participating in it. The instruments use in Virtual technology for doing surgery includes glove, head-mounted display, and headgear improved cameras, HDTV and stereoscopes apart from computer and display machine.

Click below the link and see how actually Virtual Reality work in healthcare.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2twLVL_jyP4

With the help of Virtual Reality a specialist can help a local surgeon by remote connection, or surgeon to perform complex operations where the local surgeon is in a rural setting, a ship at sea, an airplane in flight, or even a space station. The surgeon using this system operates on a virtual image, and an instrument on the treatment area reproduces the surgeon’s movements.

Virtual Technology can be considered as the leading edge of a general evolution of present communication interfaces like television, computer and telephone i.e. it is a new methodology for interacting with information. Virtual Reality can have a strong effect on health care. The key characteristic of Virtual Reality is the high level of control of the interaction with the tool without constrain usually found in computer systems.

Reference:

Google Image

wikipedia

Youtube

Advertising through Social Media

Now days it is good for any company to brand on web 2.0 because these tools are far more affordable than traditional advertising methods. The biggest advantage of Web 2.0 advertising is its cost free. We do not have to pay thousands of dollars in advertising campaigns and worry about how it is being received in different parts of the world. We can achieve all this and more right from our office. Its pull based advertising, unlike traditional advertising which is push based i.e. we get qualified visitors who are looking for services or products offered by us, so we don't need to shout & convince them to come to us. We can track our visitors or customers through web analytics software like Google analytics, click tracks etc. So that we know the exact ROI of our spend & can optimize our campaign or advertising anytime. And also Web 2.0 portals enable consumers to participate, share and collaborate online like never before. And whether we are a B2B or B2C marketer, we most likely have noticed that consumers are welcoming these technologies not only to participate but to control and dictate when, where and how they want to be communicated to. Today, customers view many times the number of ads that they did many years ago.

And also the markets for young generations are more when compares to baby boomers and it is more diversify market then baby boomers. Therefore in order to reach this young generation, traditional way of doing advertising or marketing won’t work out for any company as they are not in an apt to listen these marketers. Therefore the company has to really think for the other sources like social media would work out in order to reach these markets. Therefore in terms of effectiveness and for better result, I think Facebook, Twitter, You Tube etc will definitely work out because they are among the most popular social networking websites around the globe and it will continues to grow in popularity for all small and large businesses. It’s really no surprise to me that social media is generally deemed more useful for the small business than other social media tools. The facebook, twitter, you tube platform and applications are such that a business could feasibly build their entire web presence there. Therefore for any business, social media can be a great resource for generating brand awareness and it is becoming popular amongst various age demographics and can be a create interception point for building company relationship with consumers and prospects. Apart from branding, the most important advantage of using social media is that it involves customer engagement i.e. it is a great way for communicating promotions, contest and events.

Therefore like TV advertising or traditional way of advertising, social media will play a key role in moving brand metrics, and perhaps more so. So if business can reduce customer churn, and engage customers more often, the result will surely be that the business will generate more business from their existing customer base who in turn will recommend business to their network of friends, family, and social media contacts. This reduces the business reliance on vast customer acquisition budgets to maintain or grow profits. It will make far more profitable and more efficient organization.

Social Media-Recruitment Strategy

Social Media-Recruitment Strategy

As the social networking sites like LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter growing in a current market scenario and now million of people are there in these networking sites, a casual observer might think a recruiter’s job is easier than ever as more people share more secrets on these networks, so HR can find anybody, right? Whether it’s on a social network site, blog, discussion board, and alumni list, information is more readily available than ever before. When comparing the recruiting challenges of yesterday and today, it’s clear the problem has flipped. Yesterday we were stuck with candidate scarcity and limited information, and today we have an overabundance of candidates and even more information available on each one. As there is lot of information available, it is important to develop a social media recruiting strategy that effectively reaches and attracts the right candidates.

The best way to use social media to build communities and utilize relationships is to create your brand, identify the networks used by your target audience and get involved.

1) Transparency: Recruiters should be transparent about their connection to the employment brand because creating an authentic brand is one of the most crucial pieces to online success. Recruiters on social networking sites should also have a complete profile that includes their photo, career history, education background etc.

2) Advertise your job openings on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and MySpace etc.

3) Engagement from Two ways: Involve the candidates to engage and you must be ready to engage back i.e. continue interaction should be there between you and candidate. Bottom line – If you commit to a strategy involving social media, then carve out the time to be responsive, open, honest and transparent.

4) Using social media not only to post the jobs but also try to create a “fan page” in social site, then posting items such as: videos about the company; videos with employees sharing their own experiences, highlighting posts and showing pictures from company events; etc.

5) Encourage & Promote executive Sponsorship: One of the best ways to help your cause of communicating your company’s brand and culture is gaining executive sponsorship at the highest level possible. Having your CEO, Head of HR or another executive blogging or participating through social media avenues is a great way for employees and prospective employees to get a feel for the values and culture of the company, as well as its leadership.

6) Present yourself as a human being but not as a company: Instead of talking to people professionally, the company should talked to them personally and should have informal interaction. Remember, it’s a social media, not a business media. Its purpose is to socialize and bond, not to exploit the patrons.

Therefore social media not only build awareness and relationships between companies and the talent market but also it act as an ideal resource for further employment in terms of branding in a meaningful, high-reach and low-cost manner. Using social media, the company can build awareness and affinity with the talent market.

A Great Learning

A Great Learning from America

Life in America is totally different when compare to other countries like India. My journey in America is very good and has learned a lot of things in each and every step of my life. One thing I have learned that every countries have their pros and cons. But the important point is that how you are using your potential in order to overcome from the entire hurdle. When I came to America first time everything was very new to me, people life, their way of thinking, talking, way of living etc was totally different from the India. In every country you will find some good people as well as bad people. But one thing I like about this country is that here people are ready to help you and you can fulfill all your desire. But the important thing is that you should behave very nicely. The reason for writing this blog is that just wanted to make aware the things to people that whatever they think or perceive about America life that is totally different from their perception or thinking. Wherever you are, practical life is totally different when compare to dream life. People who live in India or any other country usually think life in America is very easy going, people don’t take too much pain and also don’t have any problem and enjoy their life. But seeing American life from far is totally different when compare to actually facing that life. Life in America especially for new people is very difficult as they have to adjust in new culture, they have to do a lot of hard work in order to live here, and they really have to go through the lots of challenges in order to have happy life. People who live in India think that, people who live in America only enjoy their life and they don’t have any kind of tension or pressure and also earn lots of money. But earning money here is same as earning money in India. The only difference is that there people earn money in Rupees and here people earn money in Dollars and also they spend money in dollars. Here the value of 1 dollar is very important because in one dollar you can eat your 1 day meal. People think that the person who live in America earn lots of money, that is true but their most earning money spent on mortgage, education, insurance like medical, car, etc. So it’s hardly possible for them to save the money. Though the life in America is very busy but still you have a plenty of things to do in order to develop yourself as well as you will gain lots of knowledge from each and every people. I give my own example, when I use to live in India; I always use to think life in America is very good and easy going and have lots of money. But ones I came here, I came to know reality about the real life, life here is easy going but defiantly we have to do lots of hard work, have to do our work honestly, have to be competitive in order to get edge from others people. My experience in America is very good and I am still learning a lot from this country.

Important Strategy of Life- Don’t Compare with Others

Important Strategy of Life- Don’t Compare with Others

In our culture a lot of times people advice or tell us to compare ourselves with others. "You should be like your father, your mother, your friends, your siblings etc". You can win; the others aren’t as good as you, you must be the best of your class, you should do the things as others are doing etc., and this is not always the best way of thinking. There are many reasons to change this way of thinking and begin to compare ourselves only with ourselves. This is the way it should be, and in this blog I will discuss some of the most important reasons for this.

The first reason to avoid comparing yourself with others is that there will be always someone better than you. It doesn’t matter in which aspect, but it is always true. Therefore, you could feel inferior to others and maybe without a real reason. For example, you can be an incredible good person or a good negotiator or very intelligent or smart and the best of your generation, and this can make you feel incredibly good, but if someday someone is better than you are, you could feel sad or feel bad although you are still the same incredible person that you were before.

The second reason to include this kind of comparison is that you will always find someone worse or not better than you, but as opposed to the first reason, this can make you feel better than the others, and this feeling can turn into a horrible pride or over confident. For example, if you are the second best student of your class or in the office, and one day the very best student or employee leaves the school or office, you will then be the best one although you are still only as good as you were before.

A third reason to stop comparing ourselves is that the one who compares him/herself with others is judging, and this doesn’t help us develop as human beings. Nobody knows the internal reality of the other; nobody knows his/her story and his/her most deep intentions, and when we judge it’s harder to accept the others.

The last but most important reason to avoid comparing ourselves with others is that when we do, we try to copy them, to do the same things, and to act and think like them. The problem with this is that if we copy someone, we will never know who we really are and what we really want, and then we will never grow in life.

For all these reasons and because we all are unique from others, we should not compare ourselves with others, only with ourselves. So, if we use this pattern or the important strategy of life we will not feel less or more than others; we will not try to make others look bad or yourself feel bad; we will not judge so much; and we will accept ourselves as we really are. In other words, we will live happier. Therefore we should always try to compare with ourselves in order to improve each and every stage of life and we are the better judge of our self and no one can improve us, only we are the person who can improve ourselves for the short or longer term benefits by developing our personnel and professional development.

Niagara Fall

A Trip to Niagara Falls

First week of July I went to see Niagara Falls along with my family and friends. The trip was so amazing that I will never forget in my whole life. I have never seen such a wonderful beauty of nature in my whole life. The Niagara Falls lies on the border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the state of New York in the US, and is one of the most impressive and visited water falls in the world.

As we have gone on 4th July, it was much crowed as lot of people came there because of long weekend. Though it was very much crowded but still we really enjoyed being there. A lot of things are there in Niagara as we have seen Niagara from USA, so we covered Maid of the Mist, Bus Tour, and Cave of the Winds, Movie about Niagara and Museum and Aquarium. First we went to see Maid of the Mist, were we have to take a boat ride and that boat cover all fall including Horse Shoe Fall, which is one of the greatest fall. It was such a good experience as the speed of the fall was so high that we all were shouting. As Horseshoe Falls drops about 173 feet (53 m) of the Canada side and the height of the American Falls is about 100 feet (30 m) and Over 4 million cubic feet of water tumbles over the falls every minute, making it one of the most impressive natural wonders known to humans.
Here you can see both with Horseshoe Falls

After seeing Maid of the Mist, we have taken bus tour in order to see the things behind the Niagara Falls and then we went to see movie which was based on Niagara. It was very good and knowledgeable movie. Through movie we came to know about how actually Niagara Falls was formed and how people found this great miracle. Many people has gone inside the river and near to the falls but as the height of the falls and the pressure of the falls is so high that only 3-4 people has survived in that falls. The first person to go over the falls into the pool below was a Michigan school teacher by the name of Annie Taylor in 1901, having age of 63 and she survived. So we can conclude that how dangerous that falls is. After watching movie for 45 minutes, we went to see “Cave of the Wind”. This is one of my best parts of this trip as we have to stand near to the falls and water is falling on us. It was very scary but amazing too.

At night the Niagara Falls looks so beautiful because of lighting and firework. A colorful light is put on the falls and once the reflection of light fall on the falls; it became so colorful and beautiful. So it was really having a good time in Niagara Falls and was amazed to see a beauty of nature.

Giving Negative Feedback

Feedback is very important for every person whether its related to personal or professional life, it always say what is better for us like what step we have to follow and were we are standing and how we can improve our self. So in my opinion whether it’s a positive feedback or negative feedback, it’s a feedback. Because if we are getting positive feedback, we should not stop there, we should continuously move on and try to develop and learn more things in life. And if we get negative feedback, we should never feel low as it is part of our life. No one is perfect in this world, even most intelligent person also do a lot of mistake. Therefore whenever we get negative feedback, we should always try to learn from those mistakes and always appreciate those people who have given negative feedback to us as they are giving chance to improve our self. There are many people who always say good thing about you whether it’s genuine or not but there are only few people who always give genuine feedback. So we should always try to appreciate those people who are giving a genuine feedback to us and also improving our life.

A positive feedback can be given anywhere as we are saying something good about the people to whom we are giving feedback. But giving negative feedback to the people, we have to really take care of certain things as we don’t want that the people should get hurt or feel low in front of everyone like:

Select Time and Place: Before giving negative feedback, we should always choose time and proper place. Doing wrong things at wrong time and at wrong place always have a bad impacts or negative effect. So in order to avoid worst circumstances, we should always know what the right time is and correct place to give negative feedback. Therefore Time and Place plays a very important role for giving negative feedbacks.

Cut to the Chase: Another most important thing we should consider while giving negative feedback is that, we should always cut our barrier with the person to whom we are giving negative feedback. As we always say “The closer you are, the more familiar you will be”. Therefore in order to give negative feedback, we should always try to build a familiar relationship before delivering our words, which make comfortable or easier to people also to listen our point more accurately and carefully. So making people to be comfortable is very important before delivering your words and this can only be happen when we are familiar with them.

Equally involvement from both of the end: There always be equally involvement should be there from both the side. It should be not like the person who is giving negative feedback, they should continuously speak, it’s the responsibility of them also to listen to the point what other people are saying. In order to make conversation more effective and reach to a better solution of the cause of the problem, a conversation should always be there from both the side.

Every cloud has a silver lining
Giving negative feedback is never going to be easy, but it can be less painful. Be sure about why we are giving the negative feedback, plan when and where we will give it and be ready to listen.

Motivation

Everyone wants to motivate the people in order to complete the work at a time or for any other reason and this can only be happen when we are self motivated, so until and unless we are not motivated, we cannot motivate others. Many times, in our life, when we are reviving old memories we get into a phase of nostalgia. We feel that we could have done better than what we had achieved. Be it thinking about that nerve shattering school result, because of which we couldn't get into our favorite stream or that single mark, which could have secured us a merit seat in our various choice of colleges. But thinking back won’t rewind the tireless worker called time. All we can do is promise ourselves that we will give our very best in the future. But do we really keep up to our mental commitments? I can guess that 90% answers are in the negative. This is because of that creepy careless attitude which is slowly, but surely entering into the mind of teenagers like us.
There is no simple solution for a lack of motivation. Even after beating it, the problem reappears at the first sign of failure. The key understands your thoughts and how they drive your emotions. By learning how to nurture motivating thoughts, neutralize negative ones, and focus on the task at hand, you can pull yourself out of a slump before it gains momentum.

There are some Primary reasons we lose motivation

1) The first motivation killer is a lack of confidence: When this happen to me, it’s usually because I am focusing entirely on want and neglecting what I already have. When I only think about what I want, my mind creates explanations for why I am not getting it. This creates negative thoughts. Past failures, bad breaks and personal weakness dominate my mind. I become nervous and started making excuses for why I cannot succeed. With this sometime I create bad impression and lose self confidence. I analyzed the things and came to the solution that, the way to get out of this thought pattern is to focus on gratitude, set aside time to focus on everything positive in my life and make a mental list of my strengths, past successes and current advantages. So after learning this techniques, I am trying to make an effort to feel grateful and now I realize how I can be competent and successful in my life when compare to others and this help me a lot to rejuvenate my confidence level.
2) Developing Tangible Focus: My second motivation killer is a lack of focus। I normally think in terms of fear. I am afraid of being alone or I am afraid if my goals are not achieved etc. The problem with this type of my thinking is that fear alone is not actionable, instead of doing about my fear; it feeds on itself and drains my motivation. The main thing I have ever learned is that if I caught up in fear based thinking, the first step that I have to do is focusing the energy on a well defined goal. By focusing our mind on a positive goal instead of an ambiguous fear, we should put our brain to work. Therefore, now I am not too much worrying about the future but I start doing something about it. This is my first step in motivating me to take action. Now whatever I want, I become motivated to take actions.

Here are some opinions for self-motivation. Don't just read them digest each one of them and apply them and I bet it will make a better YOU.
· The ultimate motivator is defeat. Once you are defeated, you have nowhere to go except the top.
· Then only thing stopping you is yourself.
· There is no guarantee that tomorrow will come. So do it today.
· Intentions don't count, but action's do.
· Don't let who you are, stunt what you want to be.
· Success is the greatest motivator.

"If we have the will to win, we have achieved half our success; if we don't, we have achieved half our failure."

Technology

The technology is really improving or developing a lot day by day. I am not going to say much about the change in the technology but yes many years before there was a time when we were listening the songs on radio and then came walkman and people start purchasing walkman including me and now the year came when we all are listening songs on either iPod or in mobile and all other value of old technology is going day by day down and are there in one corner of the room. This is not only the case with music but also with other elements like take the example of car, when I have seen one Indian Movie called “Love Story 2050” in my opinion that was one of the worst movie that I have ever seen because till the time when actors was there in current year it was somewhat good but once they have reached to the year 2050 by time machine then from their onwards it was intolerable as I have seen all malls, hotels, buildings, house are there in the sky and even car was also flying in the sky. And after seeing all this impossible things I was just wondering how it can be possible that cars are flying and all houses are there in the sky, cannot the movie maker think before making this kind of movie which doesn’t going to happen in the future. But now I am little bit wrong here I don’t know about the houses, building etc but after reading the news that Volante Aircraft is going to launched their first flying car in the year 2010, then I can say that by the year 2050 all people have their flying cars and going to fly in the sky.

Really the technology is moving very fast and made everybody life so comfortable. So let’s see what other things or changes are going to happen in this world.

Hard Work or Smart Work

Hard Work or Smart Work

Today i have a discussion with one of my friend wheather we should do smart work or hard work. I know every people have their own opinion, some believe in hard work or some believe in smart work and their are some more people who believe in both like me.

But before let us know what exactly this mean i.e. what is the difference between hard work and smart work. In my opinion hard work is that which comprise skills which are accomplished through physical capabilities. Therefore hard work means when u don't use your brain and do the work in the traditional way as all have done earlier and doing now also putting all our efforts whereas smart work requires mental capabilities to get the work done like creative approach , doing some initial study over the work assigned, using new ideas.

Smart work and hard work depend upon work to work like in the field of accounts people can't do smart work they have to do hard work in order for current entry and check each and every step, so here smart work does not fit whereas in the field of sales and marketing people has to act or work like a smart in order to generate the sales and give awareness and give market position to their company product. I would not say that in this case also be have to do hard work but the percentage of hard work is much less than the smart work, if you are working smartly and have great ideas then definitely you are on the edge when compare to others i.e. chances of your winning will be more when compare to person who are doing hard work.

Many times i have heard that people believe that smart work basically means following very shortcuts, doing buttering to your boss, do all their work etc in short what ever the boss say we have to agree weather it is true or not and frankly speaking people really do all this rubbish thing in order to make their boss happy. But i don't think in that way because ultimately its your work which count and for me it gives me satisfaction "Yes" i got appreciation for my work only weather i have done that work in a smarter way or in a hard way. As already mention smarter work means generating ideas, knowledge but not buttering.

Some people do only hard work and get lot of time to prove themselves and some do smart work which also sometime required to achieve but if both goes side by side i.e. if people recognize or come to know that at this stage i required hard work and at that stage i required smart work, then definitely they will achieve their goal asap. As we always say doing right thing at right time or speak when it required, therefore in this case we should follow this concept when its required in its way.

Rule for working smart:

1) Start your day with a plan. Write down the task (goals) you will complete each day.

2) Set time goals for your tasks i.e. a detail of time when you will do each task and how long they will take and when its going to finish.

3) People that interrupt you from completed your daily goals we should avoid them....these people are really call Time Robbers.

4) Always be control of your time.

Let me put my view by giving some example, the days when we were a student. There must have been some students studying all day and night and yet struggling to pass the exams and get the percentages. On the other hand there would have been some other students who studied hard and yet found time for playing also and still succeed in every examination. There was no difference in the study material, teachers and classes attended by both these students but still their outcome was differs. The same situation is at the workplace too. Some employees work very hard, night and day,on weekends too and there are some people who put in just the required number of hours, still meet deadlines and take out time for leisure activities and weekend holidays with family and friends. Do we think that these people are more brilliant then other people who are working continuously? The answer is "NO" because these people follow a balanced approach of working i.e. they followed the principle of smart work along with hard work. As it is said also "Its good to work hard, Its great to work smart,But its best to work hard and smart".

Therefore the Equation for success in Life is:

Success = Hard Work + Smart Work
